More than 1,000 children got to experience the magic of Disneyland, thanks to actor Gary Sinise, famous for his role in “Forrest Gump.” Every year, he takes the children of fallen soldiers to the park for free. “I’m here for the veterans,” he says, simply and proudly.
In 2010, Sinise started the Gary Sinise Foundation to support veterans, first responders, and their families. One special program, Snowball Express, invites Gold Star Families ? those who lost a loved one in service ? for five days of fun, laughter, and healing. At Disneyland, kids share smiles, rides, and memories, finding comfort in each other’s company during a very hard time. Many call Sinise a true hero. Real heroes aren’t just in movies ? they are the people who take kind, meaningful actions every day, helping others with love and care.
