Jackson Wang   

• Jackson Wang was born Wang Ka-yee on March 28, 1994, in Kowloon Tong, British Hong Kong, and grew up in Sha Tin District. He comes from an athletic family, with a former fencer for a father and a former acrobatics gymnast for a mother. Wang began fencing at the age of 10, following in his father’s footsteps. He became a skilled fencer and won several awards, including first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in 2011. In 2010, a talent scout from JYP Entertainment noticed Wang. After passing an audition in Kowloon, Wang decided to turn down a fencing scholarship to Stanford University and moved to Seoul in 2011 to train as a K-pop idol. He later appeared on the reality survival show “Win: Who Is Next” in 2013, which led to his debut as a member of the K-pop group Got7. Wang is now a successful solo artist, following his release of two solo albums in 2019 and 2022. He has also formed a Chinese hip-hop group called Panthepack.
