RE: Summer Volunteer Experiences   

• Dear Jane, This summer, I started a reading club with some students. Every weekend, we visited local libraries and read English books and newspapers to younger kids. I chose fun and easy stories, and I was happy to see the children listen carefully and enjoy them. The experience made me want to keep reading to younger children. I had a meaningful volunteer experience with my family this summer, too. We joined a beach plogging activity, picking up trash as we walked and jogged along the shore. Our group cleaned an entire section of the beach, and I felt proud knowing we had helped protect the environment. I’m thinking about organizing something similar next summer.
