Say Thank You to Your Teacher!
May 15 is Teachers¡¯ Day½º½ÂÀdz¯. We celebrate the day every year. On Teachers¡¯ Day, we say ¡°thank you¡± to our teachers. They help us learn many things at school. They also take care of us.
There are many wonderful teachers in Korea. We started celebrating Teachers¡¯ Day in 1963. But in the past, we celebrate the day on May 24. In 1965, the Korean government decided to celebrate Teachers¡¯ Day on May 15. This was because King Sejong¼¼Á¾´ë¿Õ was born on May 15.
On Teachers¡¯ Day, we give our teachers carnations. Many students also prepare pretty cards for their teachers. Tomorrow, don¡¯t forget to say ¡°thank you¡± to your teacher! Your teacher will be very happy!
