What do you need when you shower? Of course you need water. But, you also need soap. We use soap to wash the body and many other things.
Did you know the first soap was made 2000 years ago? The first soap was made by using animal fat! People boiled animal fat. It was mixed with herbs. Then, it was dried.
Around 13th century, only the rich used soaps to wash the body. So, only a very few special people used soaps. After the World War II, soaps became common. Now, 92% of the world use soaps!
