Read the following article, letting your student repeat after you sentence by sentence. Correct pronunciation if necessary. Read the story twice. You Don’t Like Studying? What is your favorite thing to do? Many kids would answer that it’s playing. Some like to play with toys. Some like to play video games. What do you hate the most? I bet most of you would say it’s studying. Do you get stress from studying? It’s quite sad. For our parents, school isn’t enough. So, they send us to so many lessons. Right now you might not think they are not important. And you may think you don’t need so much studying. But, your parents are right. Education is very important. Don’t you want to become a smart kid? Don’t you want to be a talented kid? Your brain is like a sponge. It’s ready to learn so much. Picture yourself getting good grades. Picture yourself having many talents. Sound good, right? Well, nothing is free. You need to make the effort. Of course many of you think studying is boring. But, it also can be fun. Help your student learn grammar patterns related to today’s article by letting him or her repeat after you four times. * 분사 (분사란 동사의 의미를 지니면서 형용사의 역할을 하는 것을 말한다. 종류에는 현재분사와 과거분사가 있다) 1. 현재 분사 (동사의 원형에 -ing를 붙여서 사용하며, 그 뜻은 “~하고 있는” 혹은 “~하게 하는”이라고 해석하면 된다.) People are running on the ground. <-현재 진행형 문장 (사람들이 운동장에서 달리고 있는 중이다.) Look at the running people on the ground. <- 현재 분사에 running이 people을 수식해줌 (운동장에서 달리고 있는 사람들을 보세요.) A lot of leaves are falling from trees. <-현재 진행형 문장 (많은 잎들이 나무에서 떨어지고 있는 중이다.) She looks a lot of falling leaves from trees. <- 현재 분사에 falling이 leaves를 수식해줌 (그녀는 나무에서 떨어지고 있는 많은 잎들을 본다.) The baby is sleeping. <-현재 진행형 문장 (아기는 잠을 자고 있는 중이다.)
