Dennis diary No.22-Gutenberg or Jikji
³» ¿ë
Gutenberg, he was the first European man who first invented the printing. Johannes Gutenberg is 15th century person, around year 1450. He was first goldsmith, who treating gold and shaping gold. But printing is not about gold or metal thing, but pretty helped him I think. Anyway, in 1041 to 1048, the first technique to print books more effectively was developed in China by Chinese printer named Bi Sheng. It was great invention, but it can print 2000 pages in a day, but Johannes Gutenberg's printer can print 4000 pages in a day, so, Gutenberg's are better. Anyway, about 100 years ago before Gutenberg's techniques, Korea had made more perfect printing. It was not automatic, but it was first printing technique. It was made in Korea in 1372, It is known as Jikji. And it was printed with the metal type. And it was first printing technique that printed with metal type. And there will be a lots of wood type printing too. But, things that I have to admit is that Gutenberg had made printer, that automatic. With the metal types, they have to do all with hands, but Gutenbergs' technique can print the books or bible really fast and easily, and it made people can have more knowledge because they can read books a lot. Gutenberg made printer with grape juice extractors. If he didn't invented the printer, now, we are maybe can't read a book a lot.
