Dc diary No.13-Millitary special:A-10 Thunderbolt II
³» ¿ë
Today's Millitary special A-10 Thunderbolt II. It's official name is Thunderbolt II, but pilot call them Warthog. Because it looks like Warthog. Warthog is African black boar.It is only for CAS(Close Air Support). The only combat plane that for this CAS was Su-25. It was former Soviet Union's. Former Soviet Union was had very powerful millitary power with United States of America. It is difficult that having a combat planes with only for one purpose. Ju-87, II-2, P-47 were one of combat planes that used dby CAS. After A-10, other CAS combat planes were used at Vietnam War. They are F-4 Phantom,A-7 (Corsair II), F-105 Thunderchief, and lastly A-37. Actually it is not for CAS. They are all Fighters, Bombers, Attckers, but they have to use for CAS, so they can't bring satisfaction result. United States of America thought they need another CAS combat planes, so they started AX business at 1966. The meaning of A-10 is 30mm GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun. This 30mm GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun is very powerful. And defensive power of A-10 is very powerful too. So I think it is good for A-10 and United States of America. It can fly 706 killometer per hour. Tomorrow I'm going to talk about enemy of this A-10 Thunderbolt II, Su-25. Like I said before, it is Russia's. So remember that.
