Starship Makes Groundbreaking Splashdown   

• Elon Musk’s SpaceX reached a milestone on June 6 with the groundbreaking fourth test flight of its Starship rocket, which ended with the first-ever soft ocean landing in rocket development history. During the test flight, Starship’s upper section, “the Ship,” successfully made a controlled descent into the Earth’s atmosphere and softly landed in the Indian Ocean. Despite losing many heat shield tiles and damaging a flap, the vehicle held itself together as it reached the ocean surface. If SpaceX could perfect Starship’s landing, it would be revolutionary.
